Expert Topic: Lemon Shark- International Aquafeed magazine, June 2020

In the second article for International Aquafeed’s Predator series, I take a look at the Lemon shark, a species of shark which has a particular fondness for crustaceans, bony fish and shrimp. This species of shark can be found in the South-eastern Atlantic and Western Atlantic Ocean and can prove troublesome for fish farms in the Atlantic.

I really enjoyed writing this article because, of course, it was about sharks. A variety of shark species can pose problems for fish farming, but one issue that farmers face is mitigating the risks of these species, whilst also ensuring to keep sharks safe and minimise the risks to the sharks themselves through smart, reliable and respectful protection strategies.
