COVID-19 has caused such unprecedented changes in the world and one of the most vital questions we must ask is how safe are our resources we as a species rely on? Can we ensure a stable food supply whilst this crisis continues to dominate our everyday lives?
In May 2020, I was lucky to speak with Mr Andre Laperriere, Executive Director of GODAN. GODAN (short for ‘Global Open Data for Agriculture and Nutrition’) is an initiative which was established in 2013 with the goal of obtaining commitment and action from nations to promote policies and projects that assist in providing open data within the agriculture industry.
In the interview, Mr Laperriere discusses the knock-on effects the agriculture industry is expected to see as a result of COVID-19 and how farmers, machinery manufacturers and end-chain consumers can plan ahead.
