SCENE: Sona, smeared with blood and having fallen on her knees, has noticed the ring on her enemy’s hand. Eyes widening, she reaches up towards her face.
SOUND FX: Puff. Puff.
SCENE: Sona removes the now visible headset from her face. She has returned to the real world.
SOUND FX: Clip.
SCENE: This scene fills the remainder of the page. Now in reality, Sona, in rags, is smeared with blood. Behind her lie the destroyed bodies of the various household staff, splattered against the beautiful baroque interior. At her feet lies the corpse of her husband, a sword through his heart.
GAME NARRATOR: ‘’Game over.’’
And that’s the end of Game Over! I’ve also got some character designs I’ll post, and I might draw out the actual comic later on…
Game Over was part of my creative writing portfolio, based upon Charlotte Perkin’s Gilman’s The Yellow Wallpaper, but with a futuristic slant on it. The same themes of isolation and patriarchal dominance pervade my story, but with a much more kick-ass resolution.
I hope you enjoyed it!
Time to move on to the next project…
